Keyboard, gamepad and MIDI devices as triggers and dials
The Shortcuts module turns keys on keyboards, gamepads (Xbox, PS4/PS5 …) and MIDI devices (e.g. Arturia MiniLab) into triggers – even mid-game. Knobs, faders, sticks and triggers become dials.
Setup
- Unlock the Shortcuts module – the app asks for the Shortcuts extension. Download it in the wizard and select it.
- In the app click ⚙ on the module.
- Shortcuts: click “Record” and press a key – on the keyboard, gamepad or MIDI device, the app detects it by itself. Without a name the shortcut is named after the key (e.g.
ctrl_alt_tornote16); click the name to rename it. - Dials: “+ Dial” – as many as you like. Then calibrate: “Record min”, move the knob, fader or stick and turn it all the way down, “Done”. Then the same with “Record max” and the dial turned all the way up. The app confirms each step.
A gamepad only reports after a button has been pressed once. Always use keyboard shortcuts with Ctrl, Alt or Shift (or F1–F24), otherwise they'd fire while typing.
Using them
- In the overlay: in the editor in the Shortcuts tab create a trigger for the shortcut with “⚡ Trigger” and drag layers onto it (or under Settings → Triggers).
- In chat: in the chat bot's editor, in the “Ventoview bot” tab, add an element ⌨️ Shortcut – e.g. on
resultswrite:GG! {glueck}. - Dials: on a keyframe track choose the dial (by its name) instead of “over time” (see Keyframes) or use its name as a variable, e.g.
{fader_left}(0–100) in texts and conditions.
