Basic
Manual for the Basic module
Overlays without a game: time of day, calendar, PC specs and load – and all editor features. Great for break, starting and sponsor screens and for combining data from several modules.
Key display
Shows in the stream which keys you press – e.g. for tutorials or speedruns. Combinations count as one key: hold Alt and press R, and Alt+R appears. Held keys don't count several times, Shift + letter is just a capital letter, a modifier key alone (“Alt”) counts too. The key names follow the set language (see below).
- App → Basic → ⚙ → turn on “Show keyboard” and/or “Show mouse clicks” (needs Ventoview 1.7.13, mouse clicks and extra keys 1.7.14).
- In the Basic editor choose the template “Key display” – or place the element “Key list” yourself.
- Up to three lines: the newest at the bottom (3 s), older ones slide up and fade (line 2 after 2 s, the top one after 0.5 s). Adjustable on the list element under “Per line s”.
Language
“Language of key names”: Like Windows (default – uses your system language), Deutsch (Strg, Umschalt, Leertaste, Linksklick …), English (Ctrl, Shift, Space, Left click …), Italiano, Español or Français. Punctuation keys are named as they appear on your keyboard.
Mouse clicks
“Show mouse clicks” shows clicks too – each can be turned on and off: left click, right click, wheel click. With a held modifier key it becomes e.g. “Ctrl+Left click”. Keyboard and mouse can be turned on and off independently.
Additionally per element: in the key list (on the right under “List / Chat”) there are the toggles “Keys (keyboard)” and “Mouse buttons”. That way e.g. one list shows only keys and a second only clicks.
Extra keys
For extra buttons Ventoview doesn't know by itself – thumb buttons on the mouse, macro keys on the keyboard: app → Basic → ⚙ → Extra keys → optionally enter a name (e.g. “Thumb back”), then “+ Record extra” and press the key. If it's a normal key (or left/right/wheel), the app says so and adds nothing. Extra keys always appear, even if keyboard or mouse are turned off. Don't forget to save.
APM (actions per minute)
“Count APM” counts every key press and mouse click – without showing the keys. {apm} = your average pace, roughly over the last minute. {apmlive} = the pace of the last seconds, reacts faster. Both rise and fall smoothly. Right after turning it on, only the time since then is averaged, so 10 clicks in 5 seconds immediately give 120. The template “APM display” shows “APM: X”; number and glow grow with {apmlive}.
⚠ Leave it off when you type passwords or private things – otherwise they're visible in the stream.
Variables: {taste} (last pressed), {tastenan} (ja/nein) – you can also build your own displays and conditions with them.
Getting started
- Activate the module (app or Home → Modules).
- In the app click “Set up overlay” on the module – or Open editor.
- Choose a template, adjust it, save it and paste the overlay link into your streaming software.
Settings
In the app click ⚙ on the module – or in the editor under “Settings”.
