Chat bot

Manual for the Chat bot module

This module is coming soon.

Writes in chat with your Twitch account. In the editor under “Ventoview bot” you build it from elements: commands like !rank, random generators like !lucky, timers, fixed times, shortcuts, counters (e.g. !death), greetings and thank-you messages for follows, subs and raids. Every message starts with “(Ventoview)”.

Paid module – individually in the shop or with Ventoview ProVersion 2.5.0

Bot elements (editor → “Ventoview bot”)

You build the bot in the editor in the “Ventoview bot” tab – like layers, just for the chat: add an element at the top, select it on the left, adjust it on the right. Everything applies to all overlays and is saved in the app automatically. The eye turns an element off without deleting it; “▶ Preview” shows what the bot would write.

ElementWhat it does
💬 CommandReply to a command like !rank – to everyone, as a reply or as a whisper, with its own pause. Several command words with commas: !rank, !elo. In chat people only write !rank.
⏱️ TimerMessage every X minutes – only live or always.
🕗 TimeMessage at a fixed time, optionally only on certain weekdays.
⌨️ ShortcutMessage by key, gamepad or MIDI (Shortcuts module).
🔢 Countere.g. !tod counts up and writes 💀 Deaths: {zaehler}. Mods also !tod -, !tod reset, !tod 12. Everywhere: {zaehler_tod}.
👋 GreetingWhoever writes for the first time today gets greeted – again next stream.
🎉 EventThank-you message on follow, sub, bits, raid or channel points (Alerts module), e.g. Thanks for the raid, {alertuser}!

Random generators

“🎲 Generator” is its own element: first give it a name (e.g. gen1), then build the list – for each entry you can set how rarely it comes up. In an element's text you insert it with {gen1}, e.g. Hello {user}, today you play {gen1}! Have fun.

  • Assign: tick a box under “Belongs to” or drag the generator onto an element in the list – then it appears indented below it. If you add a generator while a command is selected, it's attached right below.
  • Same name = same generator: a name exists only once. A generator can hang under several elements, all use the same list.
  • Renaming updates the assignments and {name} in all texts automatically.
  • Not allowed are names that are already taken: the bot's placeholders (user, text …), the variables of all modules (even inactive ones, e.g. cpu from Basic), built-in variables and your own keywords.
  • Many entries at once: “Several …” opens a window – separate entries with commas or one per line.
  • If the same generator appears several times in a message, each draws a different entry.
  • {gen1} also works in timers, times, greetings and events.
  • If a module with the same variable comes along later (e.g. you have {metin2skill} and a new module brings {metin2skill}), the app doesn't activate that module and tells you where you use the name. After renaming it starts by itself. The same applies to the app's own keywords.
  • Included: !lucky with the generator lucky (80 luck sayings from gaming and anime).
  • Sharing: in the app on the chat bot ⚙ → “Export …” / “Import …” (.vviewbot, without your channel).

In texts you can use {user}, {text}, {glueck}, your generators like {gen1}, {zaehler_name} and all variables of your modules. Commands whose variables no module currently delivers are inactive.

When: live or always

The default “Bot only while you're live” (app → Chat bot → ⚙ or editor → Settings) applies to all elements. Each element can override it under “When”: “Like setting”, “Only live” or “Always”. In the list, 🔴 live marks the elements that only run during the stream.

The module settings (app → Chat bot → ⚙) now only contain channel, bot name, “only when live” and the default pause. Your commands, timers and random generators from older versions automatically become elements.

In the overlay: {chatbotlast} shows the last message, {chatbotzufall} the last random result.

Getting started

  1. Activate the module (app or Home → Modules).
  2. In the app click “Set up overlay” on the module – or Open editor.
  3. Choose a template, adjust it, save it and paste the overlay link into your streaming software.

Settings

In the app click ⚙ on the module – or in the editor under “Settings”.
