Manual for the Video editing module

This module is coming soon.

Cut clips, intros and highlights from your templates: embed templates from all modules, set values with “Condition” in the timeline (e.g. fire an alert or a rank) and export as MP4, transparent WebM, transparent GIF or WAV sound – no streaming software needed.

What for?

With Video editing you turn your templates into finished clips – intros, countdowns, lower thirds or highlights with alerts – and export them as MP4 video, WebM video or GIF with a transparent background, or as WAV sound. No streaming software needed.

How it works

  1. Embed a template: “Template” on the left – choose a saved template or a template from another module (Basic, Alerts, Stream-Chat …). It runs from the start of its bar in the timeline.
  2. Add a condition: while its bar runs in the timeline, it sets a variable to a value – e.g. {alerttype} = bits. Everything that has this condition (also in embedded templates) appears exactly then. That's how you “fire” alerts, ranks or scenes in the video.
  3. Add texts, images, videos, sounds and effects as in any editor.
  4. Export at the top right: choose name, format (MP4, WebM or GIF with transparent background, or WAV), frames per second (12 to 240), range (everything or loop range) and folder. The app renders frame by frame and saves the file.

Export

  • MP4: video at the design's size (e.g. 1920 × 1080) with the sound of the sound layers. You choose the frames per second in the export window, the quality under Settings.
  • WebM (transparent video): video with transparent background and sound in one file. Plays in Ventoview itself (as a video layer), in the browser and in your streaming software's browser source. Not every video editor supports WebM transparency.
  • GIF: animation, always with a transparent background – at most 960 px wide and 25 fps, no sound, 256 colors per frame.
  • WAV: sound only – all sound layers mixed together as they are in the timeline.
  • Folder: the default is “Videos\Ventoview Exporte”. If you choose another one, the app remembers it for next time.
  • Exporting needs the Ventoview app from version 1.7.22 and runs in the background – you see the progress in the export window.

Video variables

VariableMeaning
{videozeit}Time in the video, e.g. 00:04
{videosekunde}Second in the video (whole number)
{videorest}Time left in seconds – for countdowns
{videodauer}Length of the video
{videoprozent}Progress 0–100 – e.g. for a bar
{videobild}Frame number (30 fps)

Sound from video layers isn't included in the export – add the sound as its own sound layer. Embedded templates deliver their picture in the export, not their sound.

Getting started

  1. Activate the module (app or Home → Modules).
  2. In the app click “Set up overlay” on the module – or Open editor.
  3. Choose a template, adjust it, save it and paste the overlay link into your streaming software.

Settings

In the app click ⚙ on the module – or in the editor under “Settings”.

SettingMeaning
Export frame rateFrames per second in the finished video. 30 fits almost always, 60 for fast animations.
Export qualityHigher = sharper, but bigger file.

Variables

Use in texts and conditions, e.g. {videozeit}. You see the sample values in the editor as long as there's no real data.

Video

VariableMeaningExample
{videozeit}Time in video (mm:ss)00:04
{videosekunde}Second in video4
{videorest}Time left in seconds (countdown)6
{videodauer}Video length (mm:ss)00:10
{videoprozent}Progress in % (0–100)40
{videobild}Frame number (at 30 fps)120

Templates

TemplateDescription
Intro: title card8 s intro: title slides in, subtitle fades in after, progress bar via {videoprozent}. Change the title, export, done.
Countdown 10 sBig countdown via {videorest} with a pulsing ring – e.g. before the start or as a break clip.
Lower third (show name)Classic lower third: bar slides in, name and role appear, out again after 6 s. Transparent background – ideal for overlaying in your video editor.
Example: condition fires an alertShows how “Condition” works: from 2–6 s it sets {alerttype} = bits, {alertuser} and {alertamount}. The alert card has the condition “type is bits” – and appears exactly then.

Elements

Ready-made building blocks in the editor (on the left under Layers):

  • Progress bar – Runs with the video from 0 to 100 % ({videoprozent})
  • Progress ring – Circle fills with the video – e.g. for countdowns
  • Progress in dots – 20 dots that light up one after another
