Live audio
Bring your microphone, programs or the whole PC into the overlay via the app
With live audio the Ventoview app records the sound – your microphone, another input, a single program or everything the PC plays – and the overlay plays it. In your streaming software you then no longer need a separate microphone: the sound comes through the browser source.
Setup
- In the editor of Music & Audio choose the template “Microphone (live audio)” – or in any design go to Media → Live audio and click “+ Live audio”.
- On the right under Source choose where the sound comes from. The list is searchable, “↻” reloads it (e.g. after plugging in a device).
- Save and add the overlay link as a browser source in your streaming software. Tick “Control audio via the software” there – the source then shows up in the audio mixer with volume, mute and filters.
Sources
- Input: microphones, headsets, webcams, line-in, virtual cables. “Default microphone” follows what is set in Windows.
- App: only the sound of one program, e.g. Spotify or Discord – Windows 10 (version 2004) or newer. The program must have played sound once to appear in the list. If it isn't running, Ventoview waits and connects as soon as it starts.
- PC: everything the PC plays on the default output device.
Good to know
- Recording only runs while an overlay is listening. The delay is about 50–100 ms.
- In the editor live audio is muted – with “Monitor” you can hear it for testing (use headphones, otherwise feedback).
- Hiding via timing or conditions mutes the sound; volume and audio effects (reverb, echo …) work like for sounds from files.
- The sound is sent unprocessed. Add noise suppression or a compressor as filters in your streaming software if needed.
